New campsite owners in 2022

For us, Wim and Paula, a beautiful period where we, as owners of Camping La Bedure, could welcome our guests for 12 years has come to an end. In view of our age, we have decided to hand over the campsite. Fortunately we feel very fit and healthy. From now on we are going to enjoy our children and grandchildren more, for which we had hardly any time in the summer period the past years. We have met a lot of people at the campsite and we keep warm memories of them. We would like to thank all La Bedure guests for the beautiful and valuable time.

The new owners, Lorianne and Corado, are young enthusiastic and friendly Dutch people who have shown us a lot of hospitality. With them, the campsite is in good hands. We wish them lots of success and fun!

As a camping guest, you will not lack anything, so we wish you many more beautiful years at Camping La Bedure.

Opening hours and activities pool

Every day you can swim for free in the public heated swimming pool next to our campsite. The pool has a paddling pool, a paddling pool and a 25 meter pool (deep). Lifeguards are present in the pool for supervision. Gentlemen and boys are required to wear swimming panties. Boxer shorts or other species are forbidden.

The opening hours are from July 3 to August 28:
every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In July and August you can participate in aquagym:

Monday 10.00 – 11.00 hours
Wednesday 19.15 – 20.15 hours
Cost: ca. €3.50 at a time

You can also participate with aqua bike:

Tuesday: 19.15 – 20.15 hours
Thursday: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Sporty and active holidays

The area around the campsite and Luzy is ideal for those who like to be active and sporty. The Morvan is a pleasant environment. You can enjoy both forests and beautiful views of the agricultural landscapes with, among others, the Charolais cows. The landscapes are interspersed with hedges, groups of striking trees and various types of bushes. Whether you are a walker, runner, cyclist, mountain biker, canoeist or supper…. there is something for everyone around the campsite and Luzy.

Hiking
From the campsite, there are 8 walking routes, ranging from 3 to 21 km. The routes are indicated by colours. You mainly walk on country roads and forest paths. In some cases you even walk on a piece of land of a local farmer. The different routes are available at the reception desk.

Running
From the campsite you can do a running training that suits you. A clear round trip of 600 metres: along the athletics track next to the campsite in combination with the adjacent hill. There is also a running route of approx. 3 km with 150 altitude metres and a route of approx. 7 km with 120 altitude metres. The different routes are available at the reception.

Cycling
On the bike you get just that bit further than on foot. The beautiful hilly landscape around Luzy offers many possibilities. You can cycle the routes with the help of our route maps. The distances: 15 km to 120 km. There is a lot of height difference. With bike support everything is certainly doable. The different routes are available at the reception. You can hire an electric bike at the town hall in Luzy (tel: 03 86 30 02 34). Half day from 9.00-12.00 or from 14.00-17.00: €15.00. Full day from 9.00-17.00: €19.00. Weekend from Friday to Monday morning 9.00 am: € 40.00.

Mountainbiking
From the campsite you can do six different and varied mountain bike routes. The distances: 12 km to 42 km, for both beginners and advanced. The different routes are available at the reception.

Suppen
Enjoying sports on the water with a SUP. SUP stands for Stand Up Paddling. You stand on a kind of surfboard (SUP board) on the water and you move forward with a paddle in your hands. You can hire SUPs at Chambres d’Hotes “La Cressonne” in Saint-Seine, about 17 km from Luzy. You can rent a SUP per half day: in the morning from 08.30 to 12.30 and in the afternoon from 13.30 to 17.30. Click here for more information, prices and contact details.

Canoeing
At Camping Des 2 Rives in Etang-sur-Arroux, about 22 km from La Bedure, it is possible to rent canoes. A 1-person kayak or a 2-person canoe with which you can descend the river Arroux for three hours. The trip of 11 kilometres goes through a beautiful area with only nature. The trip goes from Etang-sur-Arroux to the bridge of Saint-Nizier-sur-Arroux, where the campsite owner of Camping Des 2 Rives will pick up all the canoeists. Along the way, it is possible to stop or have a picnic (you brought it yourself) on the banks of the river Arroux. Starting times canoe trip: 8.30am or 2pm. Look here for more information and rates. The end point, at Saint-Nizier-sur-Arroux, is also a wonderful place to spend a day in the water without canoes.
Canoeing is also possible on the Loire, about half an hour’s drive from the campsite. You can rent a canoe from Les Petits Castors. There are 2 routes: 9.5 km from Saint Aubin to Le Fourneau or 25 km from Le Fourneau to St Hilaire Fontaine (only on Wednesdays and Sundays).

Newspaper La Croix about La Bedure

The freshly mown lawn is bursting with its beautiful spring green. In front of the pizza oven shed, dozens of flower pots are waiting to be put out to brighten up the 60 or so pitches on the campsite. Paula and Wim Vermeulen have a busy schedule to prepare for the 9 June deadline: with a few weeks’ delay, the first holidaymakers will finally arrive.

This Dutch couple in their seventies bought the municipal campsite in Luzy, in the Nièvre region, twelve years ago, where they spend all their summers. And it is not the health crisis that has dampened their enthusiasm. Like last season, the protocol will only allow half of the pitches to be rented.

The campsite will be open from 5 June

The campsite will be open again on Saturday 5 June 2021. All preparations are done and we are looking forward to welcome all guests! There are no more restrictions, except for a few small rules. In the whole of France the rule is: keep 1 meter distance. We do the same on the campsite. In the sanitary blocks, mouth masks are worn. In the shops, face masks are also compulsory. Everything in Luzy is open, so everyone is ready for a great summer. You can read other corona rules on the page Corona. The swimming pool is still closed, we are waiting for the green light from the government to open.

All walking and cycling routes have been updated and we have also created a nice and varied running track for our guests next to the campsite. The pizza oven has also been prepared.

Swimming lessons at the campsite

For a number of years now, in the early and late season, swimming lessons are given to our camping guests, both children and the elderly. While the rest of the family can enjoy their holidays at the campsite, the lessons are given in the swimming pool. The swimming instruction is twice a day, for a week. We also learn how to swim under water. Through personal attention the participants learn quickly.

At the end there is no Dutch swimming certificate issued, but after the swimming lesson the participants can swim. And that in a relaxed atmosphere during the holidays.

Costs: 10 lessons for approx. € 150.00
Preseason: 1 June to 2nd week of July
Low season: 3rd week of August to 15 September

Please note: boys (and gentlemen) are only allowed in the pool with a swim slip, so no boxer shorts or the like. This is a French rule.
